Residents of Lindbergh Dr NE in Atlanta were unsettled on Monday when a gunshot disrupted the fall air, leaving one man wounded in what has been described as an aggravated assault incident. In an account shared by the Atlanta Police Department yesterday, police officers responded to a call at approximately 11:15 pm to find a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg at 635 Lindbergh Dr NE.
The victim, who was reported to be alert and conscious when authorities arrived, claimed to have overheard a dispute between a man and a woman possibly emanating from a vehicle and shortly after hearing a gunshot, he realized he had been struck in the leg. After emergency services were called to the scene, the injured party was transported to the hospital, receiving care for his wound which was seemingly less grave than it could have been in a different set of circumstances.
According to preliminary findings, investigators are piecing together the narrative that led to the shooting, seeking witnesses and scouring for any piece of evidence that could shine a light on the motive and the individuals involved. The statement by the Atlanta PD highlighted the ongoing nature of the investigation.
