
The holiday season is set to begin in Marion County this November with the launch of the Sheriff's Department's Annual Christmas for Kids program. Designed to support families in need during the holidays, the program will open for enrollment on Monday, November 3, and continue through Monday, November 17. In a social media post, the Marion County Sheriff's Department shared the eligibility requirements for families interested in participating.
Eligible families are required to be citizens of Marion County and must provide valid proof of identification along with proof of income to qualify. One key limitation is that families already on other Christmas lists will not be able to enroll.
This holiday initiative is part of an ongoing tradition for the Sheriff's Department, which has consistently participated in community-focused charitable efforts during the season. Families selected for the program will be contacted by a representative by phone to collect additional information and help coordinate the holiday support.
