The Marrero community is preparing for the annual Fall Festival at Parc des Familles today. The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including a pumpkin patch, hayrides, local crafts, and food vendors.
According to Jefferson Parish’s official website, Councilman Tim Kerner Jr. stated that the event is designed to bring the community together and celebrate the fall season.
Festival attractions will include children’s games, a carousel, a Ferris wheel, inflatables, face painting, and a pie-eating contest. Live music will be performed by Emilie Louise, and beverages will be provided by Stained Glass Winehouse.
In recognition of Jefferson Parish’s bicentennial, Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng noted that Parc des Familles offers an ideal setting for families to enjoy the park’s natural surroundings and local entertainment.
The event will also feature a farmers market and numerous local vendors, such as Cajun Proper, Crescent City Burgers, Dizzybingo Sweets, Lafitte’s Laser & Engraving, and Baby Looks Boutique, LLC.
