Memphis Police are searching for a man involved in a robbery at the Mapco store on 1691 Poplar Avenue on Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. The suspect reportedly threatened an employee while taking items but stated he did not want to cause harm, according to the Memphis Police Department.
He is described as a Black male, about 6'0" tall, 230 lbs, around 40 years old, wearing an orange hoodie, blue jeans, black shoes, and carrying a purple backpack. Witnesses last saw him heading north on North Evergreen Street after the incident, as reported by the Memphis Police Department.
The Memphis Police Department is seeking public help to identify a man who threatened a store employee with a firearm to make her put down her phone, then stole several packs of cigarettes by hiding them in his backpack and fleeing on foot.
