South Florida is experiencing a mix of sun and scattered showers this weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms today, mainly after 1 p.m., with a southeast wind and a high near 85 degrees. Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers, a low of around 75 degrees, and light southeastern winds.
The Local 10 report that weather patterns may shift on Sunday and Monday as a high-pressure system moves away, allowing for more showers and possible storms. Beachgoers are advised to be cautious due to a high risk of rip currents and possible minor coastal flooding during high tide caused by persistent east winds.
At the start of the workweek, the National Weather Service predicts a lower chance of rain—around 20 percent—on Monday and early Tuesday. Both days should remain mostly sunny with highs near 86 degrees and moderate easterly winds.
Local 10 notes that while showers may briefly return, clearer and sunnier conditions are expected to dominate by midweek.
