Miami is about to permanently embed the legacy of a beloved local leader and spiritual guide into its cityscape. According to an official Miami-Dade release, Commissioner Marleine Bastien will celebrate the remarkable life of Rev. Dr. Antwane Lenoir, Sr., by dedicating a stretch of roadway in his honor. The distinction is set to take place at 11 a.m. this Wednesday, at the crossroads of faith and public service, quite literally at 13310 NW 24th Avenue, where a portion of the avenue will newly bear his name.

Sure to be a poignant gathering, the street renaming event will to fully commemorate the sum of Rev. Dr. Lenoir's contributions, which were not confined to the pulpit of Westview Baptist Church but spanned across civic realms. The legislation for this co-designation was set in stone back on May 6, as reported by Miami-Dade. Known fondly as “Pastor A.D.,” Lenoir's ethic of service extended deeply into his role as a chaplain for the North Miami Police Department, earning him the admiration and respect of countless peers and community members.

The man whose name will soon grace the street sign was much more than a title or position. As Miami-Dade's release articulates, “Pastor A.D.,” Rev. Dr. Lenoir was a devoted husband, father and public servant." His passage on April 6, 2024, left a void in the hearts of his loved ones, but his wife Bree and their four children carry forward his rich legacy.

For those looking to be a part of this commemoration, the upcoming ceremony will allow the community to once again gather around the family and legacy of Rev. Dr. Lenoir. Viewing details and the event location can be found through the official announcement
