The Milton Police Department has recently upped their game with the introduction of two new motorcycles, designed to quickly and effectively respond to calls and incidents around town. The addition of these new vehicles was showcased at the recent Crabapple Fest, catching the eyes of many attendees.

Milton PD’s Traffic Unit is expected to be more agile with these bikes, as motorcycles tend to navigate through traffic and crowded areas more fluidly than traditional patrol cars. In order to fully and safely harness the capabilities of these vehicles, Officers Jason Jackson and Brian Stafford were required to undertake 'Motor School'—a grueling 80-hour training program that encompasses night rides, precision riding, and long-distance handling. They completed their intensive training last month, according to a statement from the city of Milton.

The grueling two-week course finished with a testing ride through the North Georgia mountains, after which the instructor officially pinned Officers Jackson and Stafford as certified operators. The city's announcement recognized the hard work and dedication put forth by the officers through this demanding process of certification.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the Milton First Responders Foundation (MFRF), who were instrumental in procuring the motorcycles and gear. The MFRF is a non-profit organization committed to supporting the city's first responders through financial and resource aid. Their contribution to the Traffic Unit’s new capabilities underscores the community's commitment to proactive and responsive law enforcement, as reflected in a city’s expression of gratitude towards the MFRF's "continued generosity" in their official announcement.
