Phillip C. Anderson Jr., a 53-year-old resident of Goodlettsville, has been brought up on charges by Nashville authorities this past Thursday for his actions involving alarming videos posted on social media. The incidents led the officers to believe they were on the verge of a major crisis, potentially a mass casualty event. According to the Nashville Police Department, Anderson was filmed with a shotgun in hand, issuing threats while positioned near several police vehicles in the Music City Center parking garage.
Amidst the unraveling of this incident, Anderson is on tape stating, "This is a 410 shotgun, I got it for them" and revealed his intention to "find a sniper point," as mentioned on the Nashville Police Department website. With apparent disregard for human life, he further threatened to use his vehicle as a weapon against pedestrians on Broadway. The authorities swiftly intervened, detaining Anderson a brief time subsequent to the uploads, and initially charged him with DUI and possession of drugs.
The gravity of the situation escalated as additional charges were brought against Anderson the following day. Now he faces a felony false reporting count and a charge for gun possession while under the influence, which adds considerable weight to his legal burden.
