A Sunday night ride turned tragic for a young motorcyclist on I-40 West near White Bridge Pike. According to a report from the Nashville government's news release, a 19-year-old man lost his life in a high-speed motorcycle crash at around 11:30 p.m.

Preliminary investigations suggest that while the motorcyclist was traveling westbound, the BMW motorcycle he was riding developed a high-speed wobble. Having received his motorcycle license only days before on Thursday, he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after it's believed that he hit the brakes abruptly and was separated from the motorcycle.

Authorities have indicated that there were no signs of impairment found at the crash scene. Investigations are continuing as efforts are made to notify his family of the unfortunate event. The identity of the victim has not been released pending family notification.
