
A New Hampshire man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Lebanon, Maine, that left another man seriously injured. According to the York County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. yesterday on West Lebanon Road. Deputies responded after reports of a disturbance that escalated into a stabbing at a residence.
A 52-year-old victim was found on Carl Broggi Highway after fleeing the scene, suffering from seven stab wounds to his chest, face, back, and head, according to NBC Boston. He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment.
Investigators identified the suspect as 35-year-old Jeremy Potvin, who allegedly entered the victim’s home uninvited before attacking him. The two are known to each other, though the motive remains under investigation, WMUR reported.
Berwick police arrested Potvin, who has been charged with criminal attempt murder and is being held on $150,000 cash bail. He is awaiting arraignment at the York Judicial Center in Biddeford. The investigation is ongoing.
