New Orleans drivers are advised of upcoming traffic changes beginning Monday next week at 7 a.m. The Department of Public Works (DPW) announced intermittent lane closures on the 4700 block of Alcee Fortier and the 14000 block of Peltier, expected to last about three weeks.
According to the City of New Orleans website, the closures will allow DPW contractor Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC to carry out concrete panel replacements under the DPW775 Right of Way Improvement Concrete Project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, but local access will remain available. Parking restrictions will also be in effect, with “no parking” signs placed in the affected areas.
Traffic control measures, including signs, cones, and fencing, will be used to maintain safety in the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time or consider alternate routes during construction.
The DPW775 project includes pavement and sidewalk repairs throughout New Orleans. Work is scheduled for Monday through Friday, with possible weekend activity as needed. Officials encourage residents to monitor NOLA.gov for schedule changes and project updates.
