The City Planning Commission (CPC) and the Board of Zoning Adjustments are warning applicants about fraudulent invoice schemes targeting those seeking to engage with their offices. According to City Planning Commission release, individuals have received fake invoices from email addresses such as “planning.cityofno.usa.com” and “[email protected],” which are not legitimate.
The City Planning Commission clarified that only emails sent from “nola.gov” addresses are official. The commission’s notice advises applicants not to pay any invoices from other sources and to verify any suspicious communications.
To confirm the authenticity of an invoice or report a potential scam, applicants are encouraged to contact CPC staff directly at [email protected]. Reports of suspicious invoices help the city identify and address fraudulent activity.
