The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works announced that asphalt improvement work will begin on Paris Avenue starting Wednesday next week at 7 a.m. According to the City of New Orleans website, the project will cause temporary lane closures near John F. Kennedy High School between Aviators and Burbank, as well as at the intersection of Paris Avenue and Wakefield Place.
The work is part of the DPW771 Right of Way Asphalt Improvement Project, led by Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC. During construction, parking will be restricted on blocks with active crews, and signage will be posted in advance. Local access will remain open, but drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
The project includes asphalt removal, patching, and milling, with traffic control measures such as cones and signage to ensure safety. Work hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, and the Paris Avenue improvements are expected to take about three weeks to complete.
