The town of Versailles will open a new roundabout at the Missouri Route 52 and Route 5 junction starting at 5 a.m. on October 20, following months of construction to improve traffic flow and safety. Motorists are advised to follow all signage and drive cautiously while navigating the new roundabout, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Construction began in May, led by S & A Equipment & Builders, LLC, with a contract exceeding $5 million, including widening Route 52 to three lanes and upgrading culverts to reduce flooding. While the roundabout is now operational, the overall project is expected to be completed by fall 2025, as reported by the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Missouri Department of Transportationprovides information on roundabout navigation on its website. Updates on traffic changes and construction on the Missouri Route 52 Corridor in Morgan County are available on the Missouri Department of Transportation site. Drivers are reminded to buckle up, follow traffic signs, avoid phone use, and drive carefully in work zones.
