
Residents of North Lawndale are on high alert after a disturbing incident of sexual exploitation involving a minor was recently reported. The crime occurred in the 3400-4000 blocks of W. 16th St. on October 7, 2025, sometime between 8 and 8:30 a.m. According to the Chicago Police Department's community alert, a 12-year-old girl was followed by an unidentified male who was driving a gray vehicle. The individual proceeded to not only expose himself to the young girl but also to continuously monitor her as she walked for several blocks.
The police are actively searching for the offender, who has been described as an African American male with black hair in a fade hairstyle. Details about the make and model of his vehicle remain undisclosed. Community members are encouraged to immediately call 911 if they witness any suspicious activity or persons who might appear to be out of place. Increased vigilance has been advised to ensure the safety of children in the area.
Authorities are urging the community to take proactive measures in light of this incident. They have recommended keeping a watchful eye on children at all times and teaching them to report any unusual or suspicious activities to a trustworthy adult without delay.
