Tragedy struck Southwest Oklahoma City over the weekend as police arrested 23-year-old Isaac Carrillo after his 4-month-old daughter was found unresponsive in a home on Drexel Avenue. A welfare check initiated after midnight on October 11 led officers to begin CPR on the infant before rushing her to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The Oklahoma City Police Department disclosed that at the time, the baby was under the care of her father, police said as per KFOR.
An arrest was made when authorities, responding to the scene following a welfare check call, found the child not responding and immediately provided life-saving attempts. The Oklahoma City Police Department, carrying out these emergency measures, however, could not overturn the girl's tragic fate. Issac Carrillo, according to KOCO News, was the one caring for the girl when she was injured, leading to his subsequent arrest.
Further investigation into the incident revealed Carrillo's arrest on a complaint of child abuse, which was later escalated to a charge of first-degree murder. He is currently booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center, as reported by NewsOn6.
