A tragic incident unfolded in Bevo Mill as one man was fatally shot and another seriously injured on the last night, October 16. According to a report from St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, authorities were called to the scene in the 4500 block of Ridgewood shortly before 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a 77-year-old man with gunshot wounds in a crashed vehicle and, nearby, a 24-year-old also suffering from gunshots.
Emergency Medical Services were quickly on the scene, where they pronounced the older victim dead. The 24-year-old man received transportation to a local hospital where his condition remains under medical professionals' care. As they scrambled to respond to the chaotic scene, detectives are currently piecing together the events that led up to the double shooting.
The identity of the deceased man has not been released pending family notification. The St. Louis Police Department's Homicide Division is actively investigating this violent incident, appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. As of now, the motive behind the shootings is unclear, and no suspects have been identified publicly.
