
A shooting in Northwest Miami last night left one person dead and another injured. According to WSVN, Miami Police responded to the area of Northwest 16th Avenue and 47th Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. after their ShotSpotter system detected gunfire. Officers found an unoccupied vehicle with multiple bullet holes at the scene but no victims.
Later, two men arrived at Jackson Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds, CBS News Miami reported. Police confirmed that one of the men died from his injuries, while the second remained hospitalized. The condition of the surviving victim has not been disclosed.
The Miami Police Department has not identified any suspects or determined a motive. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. Investigators blocked off the area last night while collecting evidence.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. They are reviewing surveillance footage and reaching out to potential witnesses as the investigation continues.
