It's the solemn anniversary of a violent act that shook the Palm Beach County community four years ago. On the night of November 6, 2021, what began as a festive block party on South Lake Avenue and Daniel Place was disrupted by gunfire, resulting in three people being shot. Amid the pandemonium, 31-year-old De’Joshua Johnson of Greenacres suffered injuries that proved fatal. According to BocaNewsNow, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) is renewing their call for tips from the public as detectives continue to seek a breakthrough in the unsolved case.
In the initial aftermath, Johnson's family invoked Marsy's Law to protect their privacy, a decision which was later reversed to aid the investigation. Despite the passing of time, PBSO has not identified a suspect or established a motive for the shooting. Most recently, detectives released a video clip in hopes of jogging potential witnesses' memories, emphasizing that the slightest detail could prove pivotal. “Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS,” stated the sheriff's office, an appeal mirrored by Boca Post in their coverage of the lingering mystery.
Four years on, witnesses remain the linchpin to securing justice for Johnson and closure for his loved ones. PBSO assures that tipsters can remain anonymous and may even be eligible for a reward if their information leads to an arrest.
