A Palo Alto resident experienced an unwelcome surprise upon his return home when he found an intruder casually sipping wine at his kitchen table. The incident occurred yesterday at around 12:23 PM, leading to the arrest of a suspect on charges related to residential burglary and other offenses. According to the Palo Alto Police Department, the homeowner confronted the suspect and left the premises when asked, but not before rummaging through the property.
Following the suspect's departure, the homeowner, who is in his seventies, notified the authorities, prompting a neighborhood search by the Palo Alto Police. Officers quickly located and detained the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Sabina Blanco of San Francisco. Blanco was arrested without further incident, despite initial concerns, and was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for the alleged crimes.
The charges against Blanco, as detailed by the police, include a felony count of residential burglary and a misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. Blanco also faces a misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer, purportedly for spitting on an officer during the arrest process.
Investigators have continued to examine the case and are seeking information from the public. Anyone with insight into the burglary or related activities is encouraged to reach out.
