Spotting suspicious activity around a USPS mailbox, vigilant Pleasant Hill Police Department officers moved to investigate last night, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. The duo, identified as Maria Reyes-Castro, 40, from Los Angeles, and Gustavo Moncada-Mendoza, 33, from Rosemead, were found tampering with the postal container and have been charged with several offenses.

As reported by the official social media post from the Pleasant Hill Police Department, the duo was not slick enough to evade the law. In an attempt to swiftly connect victims to their stolen mail, officers thoroughly work through the evidence.

The district attorney's office will soon review the case.
