
Last Friday, Portland Police responded to an illegal street takeover at North Columbia Boulevard, involving about 10 vehicles. Daniel Miahalut, 30, was cited for Reckless Driving and Unlawful Street Takeover, and his vehicle was towed, according to the City of Portland.
On Sunday, police responded to another street takeover near the Moda Center and Rose Quarter Transit Center, which disrupted traffic and public transit. Officers from neighboring precincts and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office assisted in managing the situation, as reported by the City of Portland.
Portland police intervened in illegal street takeover events when 20-year-old Steven Servito from Kent, Washington, collided with a police vehicle while performing stunts. Servito was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Assault of a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangerment. Two officers sustained minor injuries and received on-scene care, as stated by the City of Portland.
