
A string of armed robberies plaguing Portland taverns has come to a halt with the arrest of a single suspect, deemed responsible for at least five known incidents occurring between September 16 and October 6. According to a report by the Portland Police Bureau, the establishments victimized were situated across an array of locations including North Lombard Street, Northeast 82nd Avenue, and Southeast 182nd Avenue.
Investigators pinpointed 32-year-old Portland resident Demetrius E. Hillman as the suspect following a series of robberies after which they coordinated with the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office an arrest warrant was issued, the suspect was eventually nabbed over the weekend. A tactical squad operation, led by the Major Crimes Unit alongside the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), culminated in Hillman's arrest early Saturday, on the 6300 block of Southwest Canyon Court; a connected search warrant was also executed at an address on North Salem Avenue, as detailed by the Portland Police Bureau.
The police's plea for public assistance persists, with officials urging those who might possess any related information to come forward, offering an avenue to connect through [email protected] and mention case number 25-255903, knowing that Hillman's link to the string of robberies although evidence is pointing toward his involvement more than half a dozen instances remain under scrutiny with further charges looming as the investigation unfolds, as per the Portland Police Bureau.
