The location for an important community discourse on infrastructure upgrades has shifted. Initially planned elsewhere, the public meeting on the future of six bridges in Washington County now convenes at the Potosi county courthouse. MoDOT made the announcement, redirecting citizens to a new locale for a dialogue meant to shape the arteries that connect them.

Essential maintenance looms for the Route A bridge crossing Indian Creek, and rehabilitation beckons for the Missouri Route 8 bridges over Allen Creek, the Mid Fork, and the North Fork Fourche a Renault. Additionally, the Missouri Route 185 and Route W bridges, which span Swan Branch and Ashley Branch respectively, are tabled for work. Citizens are encouraged to join MoDOT representatives on Nov. 4, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at 102 N. Missouri Street, Potosi to offer input, scrutinize plans, and interrogate the route that progress will take, in a meeting devoid of formalities, to ensure a transparent process.

For those unable to attend in person, MoDOT is hosting a tri-week period of open comments, starting on Tuesday through Nov. 18. Stakeholders can relay their thoughts online via a submission form found on the project's webpage, email them to [email protected], or mail them to MoDOT's office at 1511 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO.

MoDOT reminds drivers to stay safe by buckling up, putting phones away, following traffic signs, slowing down in work zones, and giving space to road workers.

Information about each project is available on their respective web pages, where people can learn more details and subscribe to updates about specific bridges. These online resources help keep the public informed about MoDOT’s ongoing road and bridge projects.
