Motorists in the Rockwall area should brace for a week of delays as the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced a series of lane closures along Interstate 30 set to take place from Sunday, October 19, through Saturday, October 25.
According to an advisory on Rockwall County's official website, the eastbound left lane of I-30 from FM 548 to FM 2642 will be closed overnight from 9 PM to 5 AM for bridge and earthwork activities at Sabine Creek and FM 35, similarly, the westbound left lane will experience closures for the same activities and during the same hours but in the opposite direction, moving from FM 2642 to FM 548.
Further disruptions will occur during the day, between 9 AM and 3 PM, with the closure of the East to West and West to East U-turns at FM 3549 due to bridge activities. Night owls will also face delays with an overnight flagging operation on I-30 Eastbound Frontage Road from SH 205 to Townsend Rd, where exit 69 will be closed as needed to install temporary pavement markings and LPCB.
Starting from Monday, October 20th, extending through to Saturday, disruptions continue with a daytime flagging operation on FM 548 necessitating patience from travelers passing through the area as embankment removals and bridge activities at Pond Branch take place, and on I-30 Eastbound Frontage Road from FM 551 to Erby Campbell, where crews will unload drainage boxes.
