While Lil Yachty himself seemed keen to keep the show going, the decision was made to prioritize everyone's safety, leading to an earlier than scheduled curtain call, according to an ABC10 statement from Wood.
The evening had a substantial turnout with over 20,000 fans attending the homecoming game where the Sacramento State Hornets claimed victory over the Northern Colorado Bears with a score of 40-35, as reported by FOX40. This event marked the university's most-attended homecoming game to date and the third-most-attended game ever, trailing closely behind the record-setter from November 2022 against UC Davis and one from a 1999 match-up with the same rival.
In light of the premature ending of the concert, President Wood announced plans are being formed for an upcoming postgame concert, anticipating a performance by Quavo after Friday's match against the Montana Grizzlies, as a gesture to possibly make up for the truncated weekend entertainment.
