An early yesterday morning automotive crash in San Antonio's West Side has left a juvenile with serious injuries and sparked a DWI investigation. According to KSAT, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) responded to the scene just after 2 a.m. where they found a vehicle that had collided head-on with a concrete pillar off U.S. Highway 90 near Hunt Lane.
The collision involved a driver, who police suspect was under the influence at the time of the crash, and a juvenile passenger who was seated in the front at the moment of impact. Both individuals were promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment, but the young passenger's injuries were described as serious. During the investigation officers noted that the driver "showed signs of intoxication," a condition later confirmed by SAPD, FOX San Antonio reported.
The event unfolded as the driver lost control while exiting the main lanes of the highway. Veering off, the vehicle met with the uncompromising reality of a concrete pillar.
