The San Mateo Police Department recently apprehended three suspects linked to a shooting incident at a local gas station. According to the San Mateo Police Department's social media post, the response was triggered by a call about a "loud bang" heard at the Shell Gas Station on West Hillsdale Blvd on May 9. No injuries were reported; however, officers located a spent 9mm shell casing and accrued enough evidence to identify and warrant the arrest of Carlos Alegria, Elder Lariosmayen, and Junior Mayen Mujiana for their involvement.

When the warrants were issued, two suspects, Alegria and Lariosmayen, had already been detained for an unrelated crime in San Francisco. Their warrants were tacked onto their existing bookings. Junior Mayen Mujiana, the third suspect, remained at large but was arrested yesterday near Cypress Avenue and N. Amphlett Blvd. Following his arrest, a search of Mayen's residences in San Mateo and Hayward led to the discovery of a Glock pistol, ammunition, and items associated with gang activity.

Mujiana, 19, faces several charges, including accessory after the fact, participation in a criminal street gang, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Alegria, 22, and Lariosmayen, 20, are both facing charges related to assault with a deadly weapon and illegal firearm possession, among others.
