On a routine patrol in Santa Clara, police officers happened upon a scene that led to two arrests last Saturday. According to a post by the Santa Clara Police Department on their official Facebook page, the officers were surveying the 3000 block of Lafayette Street when they encountered three individuals engaged in drinking within a parking area. The officers noticed a loaded shotgun in plain view inside the subjects’ vehicle, leading to a deeper investigation.
In an unexpected twist, while the patrol sought only to maintain peace, one man was taken into custody, facing multiple weapons-related charges after the shotgun discovery.
A second individual was apprehended on suspicion of narcotics possession.
