
In a recently reported incident by the San Pablo Police Department, seven individuals were arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on the 900 block of Trenton Boulevard. On September 9, at around 5:18 PM, police responded to a call regarding the robbery, where the victim was allegedly assaulted and robbed while trying to sell clothing items to someone they met on social media, per the San Pablo Police Department.
The victim's interaction with a supposed buyer rapidly escalated when four other masked individuals joined in, assaulting the victim; during the altercation, two handguns were produced, and the victim was struck multiple times. As a result, the suspects managed to flee with the clothing items intended for sale. In the following weeks, detectives utilized San Pablo's Public Safety Camera technology to identify and track down seven suspects implicated in this violent crime.
Yielding a successful operation with the combined effort of multiple law enforcement agencies, all suspects were apprehended on the morning before the press release. The officers executed search warrants across Contra Costa County, and as a result, two adult and five juvenile suspects were taken into custody. Additionally, evidence was recovered, including two firearms and stolen property closely related to the initial robbery incident.
The two adult suspects have been identified as Damien Featherstone, 18, and Denis Melendez, 20, both residents of Richmond. They were booked at Martinez Detention Facility and are facing charges including "Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery, Accessory, and Conspiracy." Four juveniles faced similar charges and were booked at the Contra Costa Juvenile Hall, while one juvenile was released to the care of his guardians due to medical concerns, according to the San Pablo Police Department's statement.
