The City of Sevierville Police and Fire Departments issued Halloween safety reminders to help ensure a safe night for children and families. The Sevierville Police Department urged community members to "avoid trick-or-treating alone" and "walk in groups or with a trusted adult," encouraging parents to "follow your children around, whether they like it or not" and "stand behind them on the porch" while trick-or-treating.

To increase visibility and reduce accidents, the Sevierville Police Department advised families to "Fasten reflective tape to costumes and bags to help drivers see you" and carry flashlights while out. Parents were also reminded to "examine all treats for choking hazards and tampering before eating them" and "Eat only factory-wrapped treats" to ensure a safe end to the night’s festivities, as reported by the Sevierville Police Department.

According to the Sevierville Police Department on their Facebook page, parents and guardians are advised to stay alert during Halloween activities. The department stated, “We recommend adults remain present and just as vigilant.” While the city has not announced an official date or time for trick-or-treating, the SPD and Sevierville Fire Department issued safety reminders for families. Officials also advised parents to “Provide each child with a wristband with your name and cell phone number or write this information on a piece of paper and place it in each child’s pocket” to help ensure children can be quickly reunited with their families if separated.
