The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a homicide situation after a woman was found dead in a Cordova home early yesterday morning. According to FOX13 Memphis, deputies were called to the 6900 block of Manslick Road just before 3 a.m., where they discovered 32-year-old Yesica Juarez on the floor inside the residence, pronounced dead at the scene.
A suspect, identified as 33-year-old Marcus Dotson, is wanted by authorities. Marcus Dotson faces charges for first-degree murder, using a weapon to commit a dangerous felony, and being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon. This information comes from a warrant issued for Dotson's arrest. It appears that deputies are to quickly act in order to locate and apprehend the suspect, as stressed by Action News 5.
SCSO detectives confirmed the identity of the victim as Juarez, who was a resident of Cordova, and indicated that the preliminary investigation suggests the shooting to have been "domestic related," as per reports from Local Memphis.
