Shelby Township Police arrested Jared Tyhir Barber after he stole an iPad 16 from a local resident during a Facebook Marketplace transaction last Thursday at the Pebble Creek Apartments. Officers, using K9 Kamm, a drone, and a Taser, tracked and apprehended Barber, recovering the stolen item, as reported by the Shelby Township Police Department.

Barber was arraigned last Friday for Larceny from a Person and Assaulting, Resisting, and Obstructing a Police Officer. Chief Robert J. Shelide said, "I’m proud of our officers for their quick response and determination in stopping a suspect who tried to steal from another person," as stated by the Shelby Township Police Department.

Barber appeared before Magistrate Alayan and was given a $50,000 cash/surety bond. "When the suspect chose to run, our officers did not hesitate; they pursued him and safely took him into custody," according to the Shelby Township Police Department on their Facebook page. The incident involved the sale of an item on an online marketplace.
