The Socorro Independent School District is gearing up to host its 3rd Annual Dia De Los Muertos Health Expo & 5K Run & 1-mile walk, aiming to foster a culture of wellness among its employees and their families. Scheduled for the morning of November 1, the event will be held at the Student Activities Complex on Joe Battle Blvd, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., as informed by Socorro ISD.
Participants are encouraged to support one another in making health a central focus. From interactive booths to free health screenings and live fitness classes, the event seems to literally have everything set to ensure attendees can effectively look to improve their well-being. The planned activities also include flu shots, wellness resources, a Kids Zone, raffles, and other engaging opportunities.
For those looking to break a sweat, the 5K run is set to begin at 8:30 a.m., while those preferring a leisurely pace can opt for the mile walk. Event organizers have announced that check-in for participants will start promptly at 7:20 a.m. and close at 8:15 a.m. Moreover, registration for the event is offered at no cost, a move likely to encourage wide participation among district employees and their families.
