Barbara Jo, a Somerville-based archaeological illustrator and contemporary art curator, is leading the "Barcode Journeys" exhibit at the Somerville Museum. The exhibit runs from September 18 to December 6 and explores the relationship between humans and barcodes, as per the Somerville Museum's website.
According to Cambridge Day, the exhibit features works such as a wool QR code by artist Cindy Ramírez, a mixed media barcode installation, and Jo’s "Glyph Poem," which presents barcodes in abstract forms. Programming includes curator talks, performances, and historical discussions on topics ranging from visual communication to artificial intelligence.
Tickets and event schedules are available on the Somerville Museum’s website, and the exhibit offers free admission on select days through the Somerville Community Preservation Act.
