According to WMAR-2 News, the renowned cheesesteak outlet, a staple in its home city, plans its grand debut in early 2026, making it the first Geno's outpost in Maryland. Foodies in Baltimore, traditionally lovers of savory crab cakes, will not have to trek up I-95 to indulge in the legendary Philly cheesesteak experience.
In bringing the iconic eatery to a new market, owner Geno Vento aims to replicate the authentic taste that his family's establishment has been dishing out for nearly six decades—and now Baltimore, with its vibrant atmosphere mirrors Philly in its lively arts, sporting events, and nightlife, yet it offers a different city's charm, Vento shared his excitement of tapping into, he said, per FOX Baltimore, he looks forward to watching Baltimoreans take their first bites of his family's famous cheesesteaks.
The upcoming Geno's location will feature the same classic menu patrons adore at the original Philly shop, complete with thinly sliced rib-eye steak, caramelized white onions, and a choice of four cheeses, served on a proprietary hoagie roll.
Power Plant Live!, where the cheesesteak haven is slated to open, is a well-known entertainment hub that sits at 34 Market Place in downtown Baltimore.
