A Springhill Police Department officer has been arrested following an investigation by the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Bossier Field Office. On Thursday afternoon, 43-year-old Amandia Hamilton of Shongaloo was taken into custody on charges of malfeasance in office, as per the Louisiana State Police release.

The investigation, which began last month, found that Hamilton allegedly used her position to conduct unauthorized license plate checks for a relative’s personal use. An arrest warrant was issued through the 26th Judicial District Court. Hamilton turned herself in on Wednesday and was booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

The Louisiana State Police noted that the public can report suspicious or criminal activity through a secure online system available on their website.
