Motorists in St. Bernard Parish are advised to plan ahead as the Florida Avenue Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic. According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office's Facebook post, the bridge will be closed today until tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Port of New Orleans stated that the closure is necessary for testing and fine-tuning new bridge motor drives.
The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office urged drivers to use alternate routes and expect delays in the area. Marine and rail traffic will not be affected during the maintenance period.
