The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced increased patrols and traffic enforcement for Halloween night to help ensure public safety. According to a St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office's Facebook post, Sheriff James Pohlmann stated that deputies will be stationed in areas with heavy pedestrian activity to protect trick-or-treaters and event attendees.
Residents are reminded not to move or drive around any barricades or roadblocks, as they are in place for public safety. Parents are urged to supervise their children closely while trick-or-treating and inspect all candy before it is eaten.
Drivers are advised to slow down and remain alert for pedestrians, while participants are encouraged to wear bright or reflective costumes and carry flashlights for visibility. Anyone noticing suspicious activity should call 9-1-1 for emergencies or (504) 271-2501 for non-emergency concerns.
