St. Bernard Parish hosted the 11th Annual Tour da Parish Bike Ride yesterday, organized by the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce. Hundreds of cyclists participated, traveling along routes that included LA-46, Bayou Road, and Florissant Highway toward Delacroix, Hopedale, and Shell Beach. The event began at 7:15 a.m., according to a Facebook post from the St. Bernard Parish Government.
Motorists were asked to slow down and use caution as they shared the road with cyclists. Most participants were expected to finish by noon, though some remained on the course into the afternoon.
Due to a bridge closure on Bayou Road, traffic adjustments were made near the intersection of Bayou Road, LA-46, and Florissant Highway. Southbound lanes were closed to vehicles and reserved for cyclists, while vehicle traffic was rerouted to northbound lanes.
Local officials thanked residents for their cooperation in maintaining safety during the event. Additional details about the Tour da Parish were shared on the parish government’s social media and the event’s official website.
