The St. Charles County Department of Corrections is holding a recruitment event for corrections officers. This effort is part of a larger facility upgrade and seeks candidates to help maintain safety and security for individuals awaiting trial.
According to the St. Charles County website, the event will take place at the Missouri Job Center of St. Charles County, located at 3757 Harry S Truman Blvd., St. Charles. It is scheduled for Oct. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet current employees and hiring managers to learn more about working in the Department of Corrections.
St. Charles County offers one of the highest pay scales in the state for corrections staff. Entry-level Correctional Officers earn between $49,465.63 and $72,118.95 annually. Those with POST certification, designated as Correctional Peace Officers, earn between $56,142.83 and $83,342.46 annually. The benefits include a fully funded pension, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for advancement within the Department.
The jail is being updated with new layouts and treatment areas. This work is part of St. Charles County’s plan to improve safety and operations. Officers help keep the facility safe and support rehabilitation for those in custody.
