St. Charles County offers one of the highest pay scales in the state for corrections staff. Entry-level Correctional Officers earn between $49,465.63 and $72,118.95 annually. Those with POST certification, designated as Correctional Peace Officers, earn between $56,142.83 and $83,342.46 annually. The benefits include a fully funded pension, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for advancement within the Department.

The jail is being updated with new layouts and treatment areas. This work is part of St. Charles County’s plan to improve safety and operations. Officers help keep the facility safe and support rehabilitation for those in custody.
