Heads up, drivers and residents of St. Charles Parish: a series of road closures are set to disrupt normal traffic patterns in the area. Starting October 6, CC Road, also known as Hwy. 628, will be closed through October 24 as part of a pump station maintenance project, making the daily commute for some a bit more cumbersome.
According to a recent update published by St. Charles Parish, the closure of Jonathan Street in Destrehan continues with no specified end date. To circumvent this inconvenience, emergency vehicles are given the green light to use Bunge’s heavy haul road—connecting to Noel Street at the rear of the facility—thus steering clear of Lorraine Street which remains out of commission.
Additionally, a stretch of Ormond Center Court in Destrehan is temporarily cut off to through traffic. The blockage extends from 150 Ormond Center Court, where you might drop by Reginelli's Pizza for a slice, to 3001 Ormond Blvd, right at the doorstep of Buddy's Frostop. Local authorities have arranged a detour, providing a bypass for vehicle traffic around the construction site.
