Cadets of the Regional P.O.S.T. Academy Class 2025-42 are now in their ninth week of training. According to an update from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the latest progress report detailed the subjects and exercises the cadets have recently completed.
This week’s curriculum included training in violent crime investigations, CPR, first aid, and tactical emergency casualty care. Cadets also completed the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (E.V.O.C.) to develop their driving skills. Preparations are underway for upcoming range training.
The academy’s program emphasizes hands-on learning to prepare cadets for real-world law enforcement duties. The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office plans to share more updates, including weapons qualification training, and encourages the public to follow its social media pages for weekly videos about the academy.
