The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners recognized the First Coast Cultural Center during their regular meeting yesterday. Commissioner Krista Joseph presented a certificate honoring the center’s 30 years of contributions to cultural enrichment in the community, according to St. Johns County.
Since opening, the First Coast Cultural Center has functioned as a venue for artists and art supporters. During the meeting, Commissioner Joseph called on Silvia Romero and other center representatives to accept recognition for their work in supporting the arts in St. Johns County.
For those who missed the meeting or want to watch the presentation again, the ceremony was recorded on video. The St. Johns County government has made the footage available to the public. Viewers can visit the Watch GovTV Live website, go to the 'Archived Videos' section, and select the Board of County Commissioners video to see the certificate presentation.
The recognition noted the different programs offered by the First Coast Cultural Center over the years. These include youth programs for young people and adult classes focused on art.
