A fatal shooting in the Walnut Park West neighborhood yesterday has become the subject of a homicide investigation. A 53-year-old woman was found around 4 p.m. on the 6000 block of Shulte, suffering from gunshot wounds after officers received a call for a shooting, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported.
Upon arrival at the scene, first responders transported the woman to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The woman, outside at the time found by the officers, leaves behind unanswered questions in a community frequently punctuated by similar acts of violence.
