A woman was fatally shot in the Greater Ville neighborhood, and now St. Louis Police Department's Homicide Detectives are delving into the incident. According to information released by the department, the shooting occurred on Wednesday evening.
Responding to a ShotSpotter alert around 7:20 p.m. in the 4400 block of St. Louis Ave, officers found an unidentified woman, believed to be in her 30s, down in an alley with a gunshot wound. Despite the quick response of Emergency Medical Services, she was declared deceased at the scene, SLMPD’s official site reports.
The ongoing investigation seeks to shed light on the preamble to the gunfire that snuffed out a life prematurely. As it stands, the woman’s identity remains withheld, pending notification of next of kin and further inquiries.
