According to CBS Los Angeles, the driver displayed dangerous behavior such as swerving in and out of lanes and running through several intersections, nearly missing other vehicles on multiple occasions, no injuries were reported despite the risk-laden maneuvers. The chase transitioned from vehicle to foot when, at approximately 6:12 a.m., the suspect ditched the Avalon near Mariposa and Melrose Avenue and fled across the northbound 101 Freeway, which momentarily was captured by SkyCal's aerial view.
The pursuit concluded when the suspect, clad in a Dodgers jersey, was located hiding under a tree and subsequently apprehended by LAPD officers at Kenmore and Melrose avenues in East Hollywood; this was further detailed by FOX LA's coverage.
