A recent arrest has been made in Bradenton linked to a homicide case involving a 44-year-old woman found dead near her SUV, WFLA reports. The Bradenton Police Department responded to what initially appeared to be a traffic accident on September 28 at 8:30 p.m. but rapidly transformed into a crime scene investigation when officers discovered Thania Fuenmayor with fatal stab wounds by her vehicle in the 2100 block of 8th Avenue E, according to officials.
Despite the efforts from officers and Emergency Medical Services who performed first aid, Fuenmayor was pronounced dead at the scene and an investigation by the BPD detectives and the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit ensued, according to FOX 13 Multiple evidence, including a knife, were recovered from the site leading to the arrest of 69-year-old Francisco Ramos-Moradel who resided merely two blocks from where the tragic incident unfolded and who was identified as an acquaintance of the victim, which calls to attention the proximity of potential danger in our daily landscapes, and how the lines between the familiar and horrendous can be disturbingly thin.
Ramos-Moradel is currently held at the Hillsborough County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Manatee County to face a second-degree murder charge, in a case that has shown the effectiveness of collaborative law enforcement as noted in the joint efforts of the Bradenton and Tampa Police Departments to apprehend the suspect mentioned by WTSP.
