Brockton PD is on the lookout for a suspect implicated in what employees described as a harrowing armed robbery that took place at an AT&T store. The incident, as reported by NBC10 Boston, occurred last night shortly after 8 p.m. on Pleasant Street, near Westgate Mall.
Store workers recounted being tied up and threatened at gunpoint, with one employee stating, "It wasn't good," according to NBC10 Boston. The suspect, whose details remain vague, managed to flee with a haul of electronics. However, a bag said to contain iPhones and Apple watches — amounting to tens of thousands of dollars — was later found in an adjacent wooded area.
The police have scoured through evidence and recovered a sawed off shotgun believed to be used in the robbery, as per a report by NewsCenter 5. Despite the recovery of the weapon and the merchandise, the perpetrator remains at large with no arrests made as of yet.
Brockton police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. The AT&T store, meanwhile, showed resilience, with online updates indicating plans to reopen this morning at 10 a.m. Surveillance footage from across the street, offering some insight into the event, appears to capture a suspect pulling down blinds in the store and then dragging out a duffle bag minutes later, as noted by NBC10 Boston.
