A fatal collision in Bolingbrook, Illinois, claimed the life of an SUV driver this past Sunday evening, according to local authorities. The crash occurred at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Grady Drive shortly before 7 p.m. WGNTV reported that upon arriving at the scene, Bolingbrook Police encountered a two-vehicle incident involving a sedan and the aforementioned SUV.
The initial investigation suggests that the SUV was traveling northbound on Grady Drive in an attempt to cross Veterans Parkway when it was hit by a westbound sedan. WGNTV notes that the SUV's driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the sedan was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
As of now, the identity of the deceased driver has been withheld until the next of kin can be notified.
CBS Chicago further clarified that police found the two cars at the crash site, one of which had an unresponsive driver. While the driver of the sedan has been taken to the hospital, no further information on their condition has been provided as part of an ongoing evaluation.
